Fenerbahce have officially signed winger Diego Rossi to a permanent transfer from LAFC after he originally arrived in Istanbul in September on a loan option. He joins on a three-year contract.
The Turkish side acquired the player for about $6m (€5.5m), but the official MLS website reports the deal totalled around $10m. LAFC also retains a sell-on percentage.
The deal stands among the league's most expensive outbound transfers in history, currently tied for fifth with the departure of Jozy Altidore from New York Red Bulls to Villarreal in 2008.
Rossi left for Fenerbahce with 48 goals and 21 assists in 104 appearances for LAFC. He also recorded one goal and two goals during the club's MLS playoff run in 2019.
LAFC now depends on Carlos Vela, Brian Rodriguez and Chicho Arango to lead the offense. The team currently sits atop the Western Conference table with 13 points in six matches and a record of 4-1-1.
