Fenerbahce is looking to bounce back after a somewhat inconsistent start to the season.
The Turkish club, fresh from a derby defeat against Besiktas, is looking to start their Champions League adventure on the right foot after 18 years.
Fener coach Ismail Kartal spoke at a press conference about tomorrow’s match against Roma: “We’ve practically completed our work. This evening we’ll also have a short tactical session. We’ve analyzed every detail of Roma’s game and studied every aspect of their play. We’ve had very positive training sessions. Roma have the best squad in their history.”
“They’re in great form, having won all three of their league matches. They have a very experienced and productive coach on the bench. They’re a man-marking team, capable of quickly moving many players into the opposition’s half when they win the ball back.”
“There are certain phases of the game where they take risks. We’ve analyzed these aspects as well. Tomorrow we’ll try to do our best. Our fans will be our biggest motivation. We’re confident ahead of the match.”
Kartal continued: “We know what Roma are doing and we’ve prepared for the match accordingly. We’ll take to the pitch like a Fenerbahçe side looking to exploit the spaces we’ve identified. All our players are important; each one has great value. We have players capable of adapting to any playing system. Tomorrow, we won’t be playing a game based solely on transitions.”
