FERJ appoints 27-year-old referee for Flamengo vs Madureira semi-final | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, FERJ has appointed 27-year-old Carlos Tadeu Ferreira de Castro, who has officiated only 19 matches, to take charge of Flamengo’s Carioca semi-final second leg against Madureira on Monday.

The assistant referees will be Hugo Filemon Soares Pinto and Naiara Mendes Tavares. VAR will be overseen by Philip Georg Bennett.

Despite his short résumé, he has already refereed Flamengo twice in the state championship. In 2024 he handled the 2-0 win over Sampaio Corrêa, and in 2025 he took charge of the 5-0 victory against Bangu.

Flamengo hold a strong advantage after winning the first leg 3-0, with goals from De La Cruz, Arrascaeta and Luiz Araújo. They can lose by up to two goals and still reach the final.

Kick-off is at 21:00 Brasília time on Monday 02 at the Maracanã. The state final is scheduled for Sunday 08.
