Barcelona thanked him for his dedication across four and a half seasons and wished him well. The move is among the club’s biggest departures this window, freeing salary and creating room under LaLiga’s 1:1 rule.

Torres had been under contract until June 2027 and, without an extension, the club chose to cash in. He now begins a new chapter in Paris.

The forward will reunite with Luis Enrique, a key factor in his switch. The coach contacted him directly to outline the project and his role, and believes he could take a prominent role with attacking departures opening space in the squad.

Fabián Ruiz also played a part, staying in touch in recent weeks and describing life in the city, the dressing room and his opportunities. That helped settle Torres’s doubts and brought him closer to PSG.
