February brings a noticeable relief in the calendar. Only five competitive matches are scheduled in the next four weeks, with only one English week awaiting Vincent Kompany’s team. The quarter-final of the DFB Cup against RB Leipzig follows just three days later. Although Bayern have clearly won the most recent league duels, Leipzig have proven that they can pose a threat to the record champions in the Allianz Arena. Bundesliga pressure and classics at the end of the month

After the cup clash, two unpleasant tasks await in the league. First up is an away trip to Bremen, followed by FCB’s visit to Eintracht Frankfurt. The highlight comes at the end of the month, with the classic clash against Borussia Dortmund at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park on 28 February. In front of a home crowd, BVB could close the gap on Bayern even further with a win and heat up the championship battle once again

Although the fixture list in February is more manageable, the importance of the upcoming games is enormous. This month will be a real yardstick for FC Bayern – both in sporting and mental terms.
