The French Football Federation has rejected Abdeslam Ouaddou’s criticism after he was twice denied entry to the BEPF, insisting candidate selection is not based on origins.
L'Équipe reports that the federation, initially silent, moved to respond to ease internal tensions and set out its position after Ouaddou’s comments on 5 August.
The 10 candidates chosen for this year’s course were due to begin on Tuesday at Clairefontaine, yet recent days have brought unusual agitation around the staff overseeing the new intake.
Ouaddou’s remarks caused a stir among national coaching staff. After first declining an invitation to comment, the FFF has now offered a response.
The federation has also restated the BEPF admission procedure.
