Algeria is set to take part in the FIFA Arab Cup 2025, scheduled in Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2025. This will mark the Fennecs’ fourth appearance in the competition.

The Greens made their debut in the tournament in 1988. In Jordan, the Algerians were knocked out in the group stage, finishing third in Group B behind Jordan and Syria.

Algeria started the tournament with two draws, against Syria (1-1) and Bahrain (0-0), before defeating Kuwait (1-0) thanks to a goal from Hadj Adlane. They then lost to Jordan (2-1), which led to their early exit in the first round.

Ten years later, Algeria took part in the 7th edition hosted in Qatar, fielding their Olympic team, which finished last in Group D after a draw with Lebanon (0-0) and a defeat to Saudi Arabia (0-3). It was a lackluster campaign.

Third time proved to be the charm. Madjid Bougherra’s men lifted the trophy in Qatar, beating Tunisia in the final (2-0 after extra time) thanks to Sayoud and Brahimi.
