Tunisia's track record in the FIFA Arab Cup

Tunisia is gearing up for its fourth appearance in the final phase of the FIFA Arab Cup in history. The Carthage Eagles will forever be remembered as the very first team to lift the trophy.
Tunisia took part in the inaugural edition of the tournament, held in Lebanon in 1963, with five national teams participating. The competition was played in a round-robin format, with each team facing the other four just once.
The Tunisians won all four of their matches—against Syria (1-0), Jordan (4-0), Kuwait (5-1), and Lebanon (1-0)—to clinch the trophy.
After missing several editions, Tunisia returned to the Arab Cup in 1988 in Jordan but were eliminated in the group stage, finishing with three draws and one defeat.
In 2021 in Qatar, Youssef Msakni and his teammates fought their way to the final after topping Group B and defeating Oman (2-1) in the quarterfinals and Egypt (1-0) in the semis, but ultimately fell to Algeria (2-0 after extra time).
For the 2025 edition (December 1–18), Sami Trabelsi's squad will face Qatar, Syria, and Palestine in Group A.
