FIFA is selling fragments of the MetLife Stadium pitch, the venue for the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday 19 July, with 8,104 pieces available and prices from 450 dollars, about 390 euros, before shipping.

Each model is limited to 2,026 units. The New York Times calculates that a full sell-out could generate around 11.2 million dollars.

At entry level, buyers receive a 6.35 centimetre square of turf in a World Cup-branded case, plus a USB video intended to verify authenticity. The venue, date and the final score will be engraved on the casing.

Three more premium versions are also on sale, rising to more than 3,000 euros for the “Hero” edition. That package adds a slightly larger turf piece, a gold-coloured metal souvenir ticket, a miniature replica of the match ball for the final and a cut crystal trophy.

The final has yet to crown a champion, yet FIFA is already selling a slice of it.
