Who is playing today? 👀

Co-hosts Mexico are set to face Czechia, with the latter at risk of missing out on a place in the knockout rounds.

Mexico have already booked their place in the Round of 32 after winning their opening two fixtures against South Africa and Korea Republic.

Czechia, meanwhile, have taken one point from their first two matches and can qualify as Group A runners-up (and meet the runners-up of Group B in Los Angeles on 28 June) if:

  1. They beat Mexico, South Africa beat Korea Republic, and Czechia finish above South Africa on overall goal difference, or, if that is equal, overall number of goals scored, or, if that is equal, Fair Play ranking.

Raúl Jiménez is often the player who delivers for Mexico when they need him most, and he did exactly that by scoring in their opening group match against South Africa earlier this month. That goal earned him an Attacking Influence score of 7.3 for the game, the second highest among Mexico players.

Julián Quiñones and Luis Romo have also opened their accounts for Javier Aguirre's side and will hope to add to their tallies against Czechia. Key defensive figure César Montes is also available to return to the Mexico squad after serving a one-match suspension following the red card he received in their opening victory over South Africa.

Despite starting both of Czechia's opening two fixtures, striker Patrik Schick is yet to truly announce himself at this tournament. Tomáš Souček is also one of the most experienced figures in the squad, and his leadership could prove vital if Czechia are to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Michal Sadílek was excellent in the draw with South Africa, earning himself an Attacking Influence score of 8.4.
