Filipe Luís has intensified Flamengo’s first-team programme this week as pre-season continues. According to Coluna Do Fla, the players returned on Monday 19 after a day off on Sunday 18, then ramp up work today, Tuesday 20.
The main group will train this afternoon from 16:30 Brasília time at Ninho do Urubu.
Given fitness levels in the senior squad, the club has set a special plan for the week, including a full session on Monday 19 and double sessions, morning and afternoon, on Wednesday 21.
The professional team’s first outing of 2026 should be on 28 January, when Flamengo face São Paulo in the Brasileirão opener at Morumbis, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
Meanwhile, the under-20s continue to represent the club in the Carioca, meeting Vasco on Wednesday 21 at Maracanã at 21:30 Brasília time, then Fluminense on Sunday 25.
Flamengo are considering sending senior reinforcements to the Carioca group, with Emerson Royal, Ayrton Lucas, Allan, Evertton Araújo, Michael and Everton Cebolinha possible options to face Vasco.
The under-20s are winless after three games, with only one point from a 1-1 draw against Portuguesa, and sit bottom of Group B on one point. If performances remain below expectations, the likelihood is they will contest the relegation quadrangular.
