Rudi Völler wanted to give his career another shot when he signed on as the Sports Director of the DFB in 2023. But even for the 1990 World Cup winner, there comes a time to let go: "After the summer of 2028, it's really over," Völler explained in an interview with 'Stern'.

Just in April of this year, the former striker had extended his contract until the European Championship 2028. After the tournament in Great Britain and Ireland, it's really over. But can he really stop then? "I had a long career, I can let go," Völler also emphasized to 'Stern'. Well then, we wish Rudi all the best and hope for a very successful remaining time.
