Savinho was a transfer target for Tottenham during the 2025 summer transfer window. That move didn’t materialise, and the Brazilian winger became a part of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the 2025-26 season. However, Tottenham retained their interest in signing Savinho, and now their move to sign the Brazilian winger is complete. Savinho has left Manchester City to become a member of Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. For City, it’s a club record sale which represents a great deal for a player who has untapped potential but didn’t look like realising it at Manchester City.

Manchester City have today confirmed that Savinho has left the club to complete a permanent move to Tottenham. In 84 appearances for City, Savinho scored 7 goals and added 16 assists. At times, he was a dazzling winger and why City were so eager to sign him from Troyes was impossible to miss. On other occasions, Savinho’s end product, particularly his finishing and decision-making, let him down. This showed that the 22-year-old winger is far from the finished product. However, now Savinho’s journey to fulfil his potential will continue at Tottenham with his time at City having come to an end.
Savinho’s move to Tottenham has netted Manchester City a club record sale. Sam Joseph reports for The Athletic that Spurs have paid an initial fee of £75 million for the Brazilian international. It is also reported that there are £10 million in bonuses added on to the deal, with £5 million of those considered easily achievable.

Manchester City have done great business in receiving £75 million plus bonuses for Savinho. At City, Savinho showed flashes of his talent but too often he flattered to deceive and it did seem like perhaps the pressure of playing for a club like City weighed on his shoulders. Now he is off to Tottenham which is a move that Savinho has craved since last summer.
For Savinho, the opportunity to play regularly awaits him at Tottenham. Perhaps, that is what he needs to take the next step in his career. That opportunity wasn’t likely to arrive for him in Enzo Maresca’s squad with Antoine Semenyo and Jeremy Doku in his way.
Savinho has officially departed Manchester City to complete a permanent move to Tottenham which is a surprise to no one. For City, the sale of the Brazilian winger represents great business in what has been a busy summer in terms of player departures at the club.
