Fiorentina are closing in on a full agreement with Monza over the transfer of attacking midfielder Andrea Colpani, who looks set to be reunited with his former coach Raffaele Palladino.
According to reports on Thursday afternoon, Colpani’s agent has been at Viola Park throughout the day to work on the final details of an agreement with Fiorentina.
The 25-year-old, who spent four years as a professional on Atalanta’s books, is set to join Fiorentina on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
The cost of the loan is reported to be worth €4m, with the right-to-buy clause expected to be worth €12m plus a further €2m in bonuses. The total cost of the operation would rise to €18m if the move is made permanent according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Colpani featured in every single one of Monza’s Serie A matches last term, starting in 36 out of a possible 38. He also chipped in with eight goals and four assists from the middle of the park.
There had also been reports in recent weeks that Roberto De Zerbi was interested in bringing Monza’s creator-in-chief over to Marseille for the 2024-25 season, but Fiorentina now seems the most likely destinations.
