Fiorentina in advanced Njie talks and ask Leeds United for Gnonto | OneFootball

Fiorentina are in advanced talks with Torino for Alieu Njie, but have also reportedly contacted Leeds United to ask about Italy international Wilfried Gnonto.

The Viola have completely revamped their squad for new coach Fabio Grosso this summer, seeking to avoid last season’s disastrous results that saw them flirt with relegation from Serie A.

They are still investing heavily and are trying to bring in more wide attacking figures before transfer deadline day.

Fiorentina targeting Njie and Gnonto

According to Sportitalia, they are in advanced negotiations to secure Torino winger Njie for €15m plus add-ons, including a cut of the future sale fee.

The 21-year-old had also been linked with RB Salzburg and Crystal Palace, but would seem to be down to the details for a move to Fiorentina.

That is not all, because The Athletic suggest that Fiorentina also asked Leeds United for the availability of Gnonto.

The 22-year-old had been a prodigy when making his senior Italy debut in June 2022, going on to make 13 appearances for the side, but dropped off the radar at Leeds United.

It would be a very difficult transfer to get through so quickly, and one that the Viola would only pursue if Albert Gudmundsson were to move on amid Bologna rumours.
