Fiorentina make 13 million euro bid for Palmeiras left-back Arthur | OneFootball

Italian club Fiorentina have tabled a 13 million euro offer for Palmeiras left-back Arthur, worth about R$ 78 million at current rates, according to Globo.com. Palmeiras initially intend to keep the 20-year-old academy graduate, though the situation is being assessed.

Arthur could feature against Vasco on Sunday, with first-choice Piquerez receiving treatment for a thigh oedema.

Promoted to the senior squad at the start of the year, Arthur took his chance while Piquerez and Jefté were sidelined and quickly became the Uruguayan’s understudy.

He has made 26 appearances, 17 as a starter, and head coach Abel Ferreira has praised his delivery and how it lifts competition within the group during the Brasileirão.

The defender is under contract until the end of 2029 and came through Palmeiras’ youth system. An approach from Neom of Saudi Arabia last year did not progress, with a path to first-team opportunities in 2026 in mind, which later materialised.
