Amir Richardson (23) is being heavily linked with a move back to formative club OGC Nice, and the player has now expressed a desire to make the move, during an interview with L’Équipe.
Richardson came through the ranks at Nice before joining Le Havre AC at a young age. His breakthrough, however, came at Stade de Reims, where his performances earned him a €9m move to Fiorentina back in the summer of 2024.
The Morocco international made 39 appearances during his debut season, but he has played a very peripheral role during the current campaign, making just four appearances in all competitions. His only starts have come in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Nice, in a precarious position in Ligue 1, could offer Richardson the chance to get his career back on track, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
And the Moroccan has now overtly expressed his desire to make the move to the Allianz Riviera. “It’s my boyhood club. I grew up in Nice and my mum still lives there,” he began. “I know that they’re in a difficult period but Le Gym are a very good Ligue 1 club […] Nice is clearly my priority.”
