Fiorentina left-back Robin Gosens has turned down the chance for a Premier League switch to Nottingham Forest.
According to the in-the-know club website LabaroViola, the 31-year-old German has “serious doubts” and does not want to leave Fiorentina after the Viola had opened up to the prospect of his transfer to England.
Fiorentina were believed to be negotiating with the English club before leaving the final decision to the player. However, unfortunately for Tricky Trees fans, Gosens refused to accept and preferred to stay in Florence.
So, the 24-cap German international continues his time in Serie A. After emerging as a force to be reckoned with Vitesse Arnhem, Dordrecht and Heracles Almelo in the Netherlands, Gosens moved to Italy in 2017 with Atalanta.
There, he made 157 appearances for La Dea across all competitions, before a loan to Inter in 2021/22 led to the North Rhine-Westphalia native move to the Giuseppe Meazza the following season.
Gosens’ stint in Milan was a short one, and he moved onto Union Berlin before 2025 saw an Italian return with another loan-to-buy deal sending him to Florence. Now, he looks to fight for his position as Fiorentina hope to haul themselves out of the botttom three.
