With massive money being spent across Europe, it's easy to forget that there are some huge football names still currently unattached and available on free transfers.

Here are five big-name free agents yet to find new clubs.

Dusan Vlahovic

Dusan Vlahovic is the arguably the biggest name still unattached, following the Serbian striker's exit from Juventus at the end of last season.

Vlahovic scored 68 goals in 168 games for Juventus following his €70m move to the club from Fiorentina, but departed this summer after failing to agree terms on a new contract.

At 26, Vlahovic is at the peak of his powers but there has been no public news that a move is imminent. High wages and signing-on fee demands have reportedly prevented clubs from making their interest concrete, leaving the forward at a crossroads.

Besiktas have been linked with making Vlahovic the latest big name Turkish Süper Lig signing, while there has been tentative talk of a return to Juventus.

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho needs to get his next move right after a miserable time at Manchester United. Sancho is a free agent after his contract at Old Trafford expired, having spent the last two-and-a-half seasons out on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and Aston Villa with mixed results.

Dortmund had been credited with interest in signing Sancho for a third time, with reports that the winger has agreements in principle with a number of clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Sancho is assessing all his options before making a final decision on his future.

Franck Kessie

Franck Kessie is without a club after leaving Al-Ahli, following a successful spell in Saudi Arabia. The Ivory Coast international won back-to-back AFC Champions League titles with Al-Ahli and was named the competition's Most Valuable Player in 2025/26.

The 29-year-old scored 12 goals in 42 games from midfield last season and is eyeing a European return.

Leon Goretzka

Leon Goretzka is another undecided on his future, having turned down a move to MLS earlier in the summer.

More than a month after concluding his decorated eight-year spell at Bayern Munich, the seven-timeBundesliga winner remains unattached. Still just 31, he still has plenty to offer in a top-five league.

Dani Ceballos

Real Betis have been linked with re-signing Dani Ceballos, with the former Arsenal and Real Madrid midfielder a free agent.

A deal has been described as complicated for the 30-year-old, who left Real Madrid at the end of last season. Ceballos won 15 trophies at the Bernabeu, including three Champions League titles, but is now seeking more minutes.
