Officials at Manchester City are reportedly open to offers for midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to new information this week.

Premier League sides in West Ham or Aston Villa are reportedly among the Croatian’s suitors at the moment, alongside a sense that Italian giants AC Milan could be leading the race for his signature.

Quoting an anonymous source on the future of the Manchester City midfielder, “There are no talks ongoing over a new contract for Kovacic at City. The likelihood is that City will be receptive to offers in January.”

The source continued, “Milan in particular are looking at this opportunity to accelerate a move. West Ham and Aston Villa are also interested, but less advanced for now. Same for Villarreal and Real Betis.”

Should Mateo Kovacic depart, City could look to replace his experience with a younger and more dynamic profile in midfield, having been linked in recent months with several emerging talents as part of a gradual squad renewal strategy that began following the 2024/25 season.
