Chelsea once again got the better of Manchester United, this time putting five past Eva Olid's team.

The Red Devils began the season with a disjointed display away to London City Lionesses but here they simply looked outclassed across the pitch.

Sonia Bompastor's side took a deserved lead with just over 20 minutes gone after a well-worked goal that saw Wieke Kaptein give Sjoeke Nüsken an easy finish.

There was a brief United spark in response but that was extinguished when Keira Walsh fired in from the edge of the area.

That dominance continued in the second half with Lauren James once agains scoring against her former club with just an hour gone before Ellie Carpenter added a fourth.

Things got worse for Eva Olid's team in stoppage time with Lucy Bronze adding a fifth goal for the visitors to keep United bottom of the WSL and send Chelsea top ahead of this afternoon's fixtures.

Olid has plenty of work to do as United's new manager but first has to deal with another difficult fixture – a trip to take on Arsenal next time out.
