Flamengo beat Vitória 2-0 on Sunday at the Maracanã to stay second in the Brasileirão and extend their unbeaten league run.

In the 14th minute, Erick Pulgar arrowed a right-footer from outside the box into the top left, set up by Léo Pereira, to put the hosts ahead.

Minutes later, Pereira drew a flying save from Lucas Arcanjo as Fla pressed. After the restart, the Vitória goalkeeper also tipped over a Giorgian de Arrascaeta effort, keeping Leão da Barra in range.

Samuel Lino struck the right post (73.) before substitute Bruno Henrique made the points safe with a clinical finish from a Jorge Andrés Carrascal Guado breakaway pass (80.).

Leão da Barra had few clear chances, with Jamerson bending a direct free kick just wide in the second minute of stoppage time.

Fla posted 20 attempts and 62.5% possession, underlining their control. Leão da Barra managed seven attempts.
