Palmeiras beat Vasco da Gama 4-1 in the Brasileirão on Sunday in São Paulo to remain top of the table.

Vasco threatened at times but Carlos Miguel produced smart stops, notably denying Nuno Moreira and Avellar as the visitors chased a response.

After Verdão introduced Felipe Anderson and Jhon Arias (71.), Anderson struck the post on the counter (79.). Flaco Lopez added a late fourth with a crisp finish from Arias' pass (89.). Facundo Colidio headed a consolation in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time.
