Independiente del Valle (EQU) have set their schedule for Thursday’s Libertadores quarter-final second leg at the Maracanã against Flamengo, arriving in Rio in the early hours of Wednesday, 16.

As reported by Coluna Do Fla, Independiente del Valle will train at Fluminense’s CT from 15:30 Brasília time, with the Rio club providing facilities for their preparation.

That leaves the Ecuadorians with only one day of work in the city before facing Flamengo, and the coaching staff plan to use the session to finalise details.

The first leg in Quito finished 2-0 to Flamengo, who therefore return home with a cushion built at altitude. They can afford to lose by one goal and still reach the semi-finals.

A repeat 2-0 scoreline for the visitors at the Maracanã would take the tie to penalties.

Whoever advances will face Corinthians or Estudiantes (ARG). Their first meeting ended 1-1 in Argentina, with the return set for Wednesday, 16, at Neo Química Arena.

Kick-off at the Maracanã is 21:30 Brasília time on Thursday, 17. ESPN and Disney+ will broadcast the match.
