Flamengo face a shirt sponsor impasse after a federal betting ban in Brazil, with their Betano deal limiting any change this year. Having already received payments until the end of the year, the club cannot place another brand without breaching contract.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo do not plan to negotiate the main chest space in 2026 and will await the next legal steps.

On Sunday 27, speculation linked Fatal Models with a proposal to sponsor the club. Flamengo published a statement on their website denying any talks, warning of legal action over false reports and images of the shirt carrying an unauthorised brand. It also stressed that official announcements are made only via its channels.

Flamengo’s agreement with Betano runs until December 2028. The club are waiting to see whether the provisional measure will become law.

The Federal Government, which argued betting firms are damaging Brazilian families, has prohibited their operations and advertising. Once the measure appears in the Official Gazette, new deposits into betting accounts are barred, bettors have until 23:59 on five October to withdraw balances, and from 00:00 on six October sites and apps will be blocked nationwide alongside Anatel, CGI.br and app stores.
