Flamengo fans sell out nine away ends as team lead away form | OneFootball

Flamengo closed the first phase as the league’s outstanding away side ahead of the World Cup pause.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the club’s travelling support sold out the entire away allocation at all nine league fixtures, underlining Flamengo’s nationwide reach.

Across nine trips they registered five wins, two draws and two defeats, scoring 15 and conceding six.

The run began with a 2-1 loss at São Paulo on 28/01, then a 2-1 win at Vitória on 10/02. It continued with a 3-0 derby success at Botafogo on 14/03 and a 1-1 draw at Corinthians on 22/03. After a 3-0 reverse at Red Bull Bragantino on 02/04, they beat Fluminense 2-1 on 12/04, Atlético-MG 4-0 on 26/04 and Grêmio 1-0 on 10/05, before drawing 1-1 at Athletico-PR on 17/05.

Attention now turns to the Maracanã before the break. Flamengo host Estudiantes (ARG) on Wednesday 20 in the Libertadores, then meet Palmeiras on Saturday 23 in the Brasileirão, with expectation of a full house.
