Flamengo are hoping to have Jorginho back for Thursday's Recopa Sul-Americana decider against Lanús at the Maracanã at 21:30, though the midfielder remains a doubt with a left thigh problem. The club are working to have him available to head coach Filipe Luís.

According to Globo.com, he is recovering from a moderate injury to the back of his left thigh. The medical team are cautious, but there is optimism over an early return. His involvement depends on this week's training response.

Alongside Saúl, Jorginho was at the Maracanã on Sunday to watch the 3-0 win over Madureira in the Campeonato Carioca semi-final. His last game was against Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil on the first of February. Bruno Henrique and Wallace Yan should be available on Thursday.

Bruno Henrique missed the Madureira match due to discomfort in the pubic area and is undergoing intensive treatment at the club. He had been playing through pain there and, given the importance of the game, is likely to be included.

Wallace Yan felt muscle pain before the semi-final against Botafogo and has missed the last three matches. He has started reconditioning work with the fitness staff and is closer to a return.

The only confirmed absentee is Saúl, who is recovering from surgery on his left ankle.

Flamengo must win by at least two goals to secure the trophy. A one-goal victory takes it to extra time, then penalties. Lanús take the title if they win or draw.
