Flamengo's hopes in the Taça Guanabara remain alive after Friday's results. Nova Iguaçu lost 2-1 at home to Bangu and Boavista drew 1-1 at Sampaio Corrêa, removing the threat of early elimination in Group B.

According to Globo.com, Madureira visit Vasco at São Januário on Monday, and Maricá host Volta Redonda. Even if both win, Flamengo can still reach the top four and avoid the relegation quadrangular, where one team drops to Série B.

Flamengo must beat Sampaio Corrêa at the Maracanã on the final day and need at least two of four scenarios to occur.

Madureira must not take two points from six. If they take one point, Flamengo will also need to overturn the current goal difference gap of three. Madureira face Vasco at São Januário, then Volta Redonda at Raulino de Oliveira.

Boavista must not take one point from three. Their last match is against Bangu at Moça Bonita.

Nova Iguaçu must not take three points from three. They meet Portuguesa at the Luso-Brasileiro.

Maricá must not take six points from six. If they take four, Flamengo will also need to overturn a goal difference deficit of one. Maricá host Volta Redonda at João Saldanha, then play Fluminense at the Maracanã.

The final round is on 7 February. Before then, Flamengo host Inter in the Brasileiro and meet Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil on Sunday at Mané Garrincha.
