Flamengo ‘make first contact’ over Jhon Arias as January talk grows

Jhon Arias has been linked with a January exit from Wolves after a difficult start since joining in the summer.

According to Paparazzo Rubro-Negro, Brazilian champions Flamengo have made first contact and outlined a project to the Colombian. He has not yet responded, though there is optimism within the club.

Fluminense and Palmeiras have also been linked, and talk has gathered pace in Brazil over the past month. Any approach remains at an early stage.

Arias has addressed his situation, saying he would sign for Wolves again, that he expected difficulties and welcomes the challenge, and that better days will come.

A move in January is considered unlikely for now, and Wolves may prefer to keep him. That could change if firm bids arrive and most of their investment can be recouped. He is not a key figure for Rob Edwards.
