According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo face a busy Thursday 29 January as José Boto appears before the STJD and Lucas Paquetá lands to finalise his move, a day after a 2-1 loss at São Paulo.

The STJD denounced Boto in October 2025 after strong criticism of refereeing. His hearing is set for 10:00 Brasília time on Thursday, and any punishment could bring a suspension of 15 to 90 days.

The most expensive signing in Brazilian football history, Paquetá is due in Rio on Thursday morning to undergo medical tests. He will then sign a five-year contract with Flamengo running to 2030.

Flamengo began their Brasileirão defence with defeat on Wednesday 28 January, losing 2-1 at Morumbi.

Gonzalo Plata opened the scoring, then Luciano and Danielzinho secured the comeback win for the hosts.
