Saúl sparked a social media stir after pairing an Instagram training post with an explicit proibidão track, prompting team-mates to jokingly urge an Instagram ban. The reaction came days after he impressed in Flamengo’s win over Bragantino on Sunday 20.

According to Coluna Do Fla, during Friday’s session at Ninho do Urubu, senior players including Bruno Henrique, Léo Ortiz, Paquetá, Danilo and Alex Sandro laughed that he should be banned or blocked, with talk of reporting the account and calls for better musical choices.

The post itself showed only the midfielder at work in the rain with a simple caption. The backing music, however, featured explicit lyrics referencing the purchase of a sexual stimulation item, a contrast that caught supporters’ attention.

After heel surgery late last year, Saúl debuted this April and has 13 appearances, zero goals and one assist in 2026. Frustrated by limited minutes, he said after facing Bragantino that if a good offer arrived and he still was not playing, leaving could be best for everyone, a view he had voiced before the window closed. He added he would speak to the club if chances did not come by season’s end, noting criticism both when he plays and when he does not.

Saúl also stressed he is very happy at Flamengo, praised the club and its supporters, and said his family want to stay. He accepted that all players seek game time and, if they do not get it, must consider options elsewhere, but not now.
