Despite the figures, Flamengo are not inclined to let him go now, believing he can gain value in the coming years. He has recently earned opportunities and is viewed as important for the squad’s future. Club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, is an admirer.

He has been collecting experience with Brazil’s youth sides and is in the plans to captain the Under-20s at the South American Championship slated for January 2027.

Before this, Ajax bid €8m at the end of 2025, which was declined. Later, Grupo City tried with €10m and were also turned down.

João Victor has 14 senior appearances. He stood out during Flamengo’s preparations in Portugal, increasing European interest.

Flamengo intend to keep giving him minutes and believe a move now could disrupt his development.
