Flamengo 'set to land' Udinese's Walace as a replacement for Arão | OneFootball

Flamengo are reportedly on the cusp of completing a €6m deal for Udinese midfielder Walace.

S1 Live reports that the Rubro-Negro will acquire 70% of the player’s economic rights, and that he has already agreed personal terms with the club.

Walace normally plays the holding role, and is being brought in as a direct replacement for Willian Arão following his move to Fenerbahçe in Turkey.

Should the move be sealed, the 27-year-old will almost certainly be added to manager Dorival Júnior’s Copa Libertadores squad ahead of the quarter-final tie with fellow Brazilian side Corinthians.

Fla can make three changes to their squad before the last eight, with recent signings Arturo Vidal and Éverton Soares taking the other spots.

The Mengão are said to be interested in adding another midfielder to replace Andreas Pereira after his loan deal expired. Wendel fom Zenit is understood to be top target in that regard.

With the international transfer window not officially opened until Monday, neither of Flamengo’s new boys will be available for selection for Saturday’s Brasileirão clash with Coritiba.
