Flamengo are into the Copa Libertadores semi-finals after a 1-1 draw with Independiente del Valle at the Maracanã on Thursday, having won 2-0 in Quito. They will face Estudiantes in the next round.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the first leg will be in the week of 14 October with Estudiantes hosting, and the return at the Maracanã in the week of 21 October. Flamengo earned the right to play the second leg at home after posting the best group-stage record. Conmebol will confirm exact dates and kick-off times.

There is uncertainty over the venue for the opener, because Conmebol rules require a 4,000-seat away allocation for a semi-final. Estudiantes’ Estadio Uno offers a little over 2,000 visiting places, so Estudiantes must switch grounds unless Conmebol grants approval.

The clubs shared Group A earlier in the competition, Flamengo advancing with 16 points and Estudiantes with nine. In La Plata it finished 1-1, Luiz Araújo scoring for Flamengo, then at the Maracanã Flamengo won 1-0 through Pedro.

The winners will meet whoever prevails between Palmeiras and Fluminense. That tie will begin at the Maracanã and conclude at Nubank Parque. The final is a single match in Montevideo on 28 November.
