Flamengo have been shortlisted for the 2026 Ballon d'Or men's Club of the Year, the only non-European contender. According to Globo.com, the five include Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bodo/Glimt and Paris Saint-Germain.

The nod caps a trophy-laden 2025 under Filipe Luís, when Flamengo won the Libertadores, Campeonato Brasileiro and Campeonato Carioca. The continental crown was their third in six years.

Arsenal are on the list after winning the English title and reaching the Champions League final. Bayern Munich had a commanding German league campaign with only one defeat.

Reigning award winners Paris Saint-Germain return following another Champions League triumph and the French title.

Norway's Bodo/Glimt are the surprise inclusion. They reached the Champions League last 16 after beating Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the league phase, then eliminating Inter Milan in the playoffs with two wins for a 5-2 aggregate.

Botafogo were among last year's nominees, while the women's Club of the Year shortlist features Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Club América, Manchester City and OL Lyonnes.

Winners will be revealed at the Ballon d'Or ceremony on 26 October in London, which will also honour leading players and coaches.
