Flamengo return to action on Sunday, visiting Mirassol in the 23rd round of the Brasileirão with an unbeaten record in this fledgling fixture.

Mirassol only reached Serie A in 2025, and the clubs have met twice, yielding one Flamengo win and one draw.

Flamengo beat Mirassol 2-1 in Rio on 9 August 2025, then drew 3-3 at the Maião on 6 December 2025 in the 38th and final round.

That 3-3 came after Flamengo had already secured the title. Chico Kim, Alesson and Cristian scored for the hosts, with Douglas Telles and Guilherme Gomes, twice, on target for the visitors.

Flamengo fielded a largely under-20 side. Only Michael, Evertton Araújo, Wallace Yan and Dyogo Alves were from the senior group, as the main squad had travelled to Qatar for the Intercontinental Cup with coach Filipe Luís. Under-20 coach Bruno Pivetti took charge.

The stakes are clear. Flamengo are six points behind leaders Palmeiras, 42 to 48, and have a game in hand, also against Mirassol, from a postponed first-round fixture with no date set.

Kick-off is at 18:30 Brasília time at Estádio Maião. Record, CazéTV and Premiere will show the match.
