Manchester United came from behind to beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford. Here are our player ratings from the game.

Senne Lammens 7 – Another brilliant performance. Made two big saves in the first half when Ipswich were growing into the game. Good on the ball as United looked to play out from the back.

Diogo Dalot 7 – Always offered an option out wide. Willing to overlap and got involved in the attack, attempting shots. Came very close to finding the back of the net in the first half with a sensational curling effort.

Harry Maguire 7 –  He played a significant part in restoring parity for United, striking a shot that deflected past the goalkeeper. While there was a handball in the build-up, it was ultimately deemed inconsequential given that the goal was credited as an own goal.

Lisandro Martinez 6 – Dependable as always on the ball.

Luke Shaw 3 – He had a nightmare first half against Fatawu, who left him for dead for Ipswich’s opener. He was then outpaced by Enciso, only for Lammens to come to his rescue. United’s need for a left-back has never been clearer.

Kobbie Mainoo 8 – A magnificent all-action performance. He dominated defensively and with the ball, lifting those around him as the team’s driving force. He also provided the delivery for United’s penalty. Quite simply, an outstanding player.

Youri Tielemans 6 – A considerable step up from his display against Hull City last weekend. He was pivotal in orchestrating play from the middle of the park.

Bruno Fernandes 9.5 – Hat-trick hero! Three exceptional finishes to steer United to a commanding victory. Also registered a mind-blowing assist for Mbeumo just to cap off his masterclass.

Bryan Mbeumo 7.5 – He was everywhere, but his first touch let him down and he hit the post with one wayward finish. He made amends in the 82nd minute, though, with a composed chip to make it 5-1.

Marcus Rashford 6.5- He was a constant menace, whether crossing or driving at defenders. He worked hard defensively, went close to scoring twice, and nearly set up Mbeumo for what would have been a well-deserved assist. A superb return to the starting XI for the Carrington academy graduate.

Matheus Cunha 6 – Good work to win United a penalty.

Substitutes

Noussair Mazraoui 6 – Helped United secure the victory.

Leny Yoro 6 – Same as Mazraoui. Picked up where Dalot left off.

Andrey Santos 6 – He ensured there was no drop-off after Mainoo’s departure, maintaining United’s grip in the engine room.

Benjamin Sesko 5 – Just OK

Patrick Dorgu 6 – Tested the Ipswich goalkeeper at the near post with a dangerous header and a powerful shot.
