Flick’s relentless Barcelona already ahead of Guardiola and Valverde with 354 goals in 125 matches | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have made a blistering start to the season, winning each of their eight opening matches – seven in La Liga and one in the UEFA Champions League.

Their attacking output has been just as striking, with 36 goals already scored, averaging over four goals per game.

The numbers underline Hansi Flick’s commitment to attacking football, that has been a key feature of this Barça team, especially in the ongoing campaign, where they have been simply relentless going forward.

Flick among Barcelona’s most prolific coaches

Since taking charge at Barcelona, Flick has overseen 354 goals in 125 matches, while his team have conceded 143.

Flick took charge of Barcelona in the 2024/25 season. Across just over two campaigns, Barça have already racked up a total of 354 goals in all competitions, an average of 2.83 goals per match.

That puts Flick fourth among Barcelona coaches in terms of for average goals scored per game with at least this number of matches in charge, reports MARCA.

Only Helenio Herrera (2.89), Luis Enrique (2.87) and Ferdinand Daucik (2.86) have recorded higher figures.

Flick is already ahead of Pep Guardiola (2.43) and Ernesto Valverde (2.32) on the same measure.

Barcelona’s best-ever start to a La Liga campaign for goals

The figures become even more striking when looking exclusively at Barcelona’s first seven La Liga matches this season.

The Catalan side have scored 31 goals, their highest total after seven matches in the history of the competition.

Only one team has ever scored more at this stage: Sevilla in 1940/41, who had 40 goals after seven games.

Raphinha has played a particularly important role in the remarkable scoring run, contributing 12 of those 31 league goals.

The Brazilian has already recorded two hat-tricks and two braces during the opening weeks of the campaign.

He has been joined on the scoresheet by Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Karim Adeyemi, Joao Cancelo, Xavi Espart, Gabriel Jesus and Pedri, highlighting the variety of Barcelona’s attacking threat.

Flick’s Bayern numbers were even more prolific

The German’s attacking record was also remarkable during his time at Bayern Munich.

Flick guided the German club to 260 goals in 86 matches, giving him an average of more than three goals per game. Bayern conceded 91 goals during that period.

At Barcelona, his side are continuing to produce similarly eye-catching numbers, with the current campaign adding another chapter to his record as one of the club’s most prolific coaches.
