Munich and Barcelona to host 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals | OneFootball

UEFA confirmed that the 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals will be staged at the Munich Football Arena and Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou.

The Allianz Arena is no stranger to the showpiece, having hosted the final in 2012 and 2025. For Barcelona, 2029 will be the first final at Camp Nou in 30 years, the last coming in 1999 when Manchester United beat Bayern Munich 2-1.

Munich’s 70,000-capacity stadium is ready. In Spain, Camp Nou remains under major redevelopment that began in 2023, with Barcelona returning in November after a two-year absence while construction continues.

Current capacity is capped at 62,000, with the third tier unfinished and the roof yet to be installed. The completed stadium is planned to hold 105,000, with work targeted to finish by late 2027 or early 2028 at the latest.

UEFA also set venues for other finals. The Women’s Champions League will go to Parc Olympic Lyonnais in 2028 and the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff in 2029. The Europa League will be played at the National Arena in Bucharest in 2028 and the National Stadium Serbia in Belgrade in 2029, while the Conference League finals are awarded to Juventus Stadium in Turin and Budapest’s Puskas Arena respectively.

This season’s Champions League final will be held at Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium in the Spanish capital before the competition moves into its next cycle.
