Fluminense beat Santos 3-2 at Estádio Urbano Caldeira on Sunday, rising from fourth to second in the Brasileirão after substitute John Kennedy's late strike.
In the ninth minute, Gabriel Barbosa put the hosts ahead with a composed finish. Jefferson Savarino levelled for the visitors (24.) from Rodrigo Castillo's pass.
After the restart, Alvaro Barreal restored the Peixe lead (57.) following a pass from Gabi. Guga's deep cross then found Castillo to equalise (60.).
Fábio denied Neymar with a low stop (82.). Moments later, substitute John Kennedy steered in Guga's second assist with a left footed finish (86.) to swing it Flu's way.
Fábio preserved the points by clawing away Thaciano's header in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time as the Tricolor Carioca saw it out.
Flu registered 10 attempts and 53.2% possession. Peixe produced seven attempts, four on target.
