Fluminense and Palmeiras have agreed to allocate 4,000 away tickets for their Libertadores semi-final, in line with CONMEBOL regulations.
They await approval from São Paulo’s public security department before finalising and starting sales. According to ge, the Fire Department has cleared the plan and Shock Battalion clearance could arrive by Monday.
Palmeiras first sought to cap Fluminense’s allocation at 2,000 on safety grounds. After a recommendation from the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office, it pursued the full allocation with the Military Police but asked for 10% of the Maracanã, arguing Fluminense fans would take about 10% of Nubank Parque.
Fluminense rejected the 10% request, roughly 7,000 tickets, three thousand above the rules. The clubs have since settled on the full away allocation for both legs.
To meet Palmeiras’ exception request, São Paulo’s Military Police set conditions including a reconfigured away section, an operational plan for visiting entry and protective netting.
In Rio, Fluminense agreed with BEPE to offer the maximum allocation at Maracanã, opening further home sections, including the lower north beneath the away area. The club will install protective netting and metal barriers to isolate the visitors.
The semi-final is set for 14 and 21 October, first at the Maracanã under Fluminense’s control, then at Nubank Parque with Palmeiras hosting.
