According to Globo.com, Conmebol informed the club on Thursday and said he need only serve the automatic suspension.

He will not be in the dugout for the first semi-final against Fluminense on 14 October. He will return for the second leg on 21 October at Nubank Parque.

The Portuguese was dismissed after protesting the non-award of a foul on Andreas Pereira 20 minutes into the second half. Referee Wilmar Roldán showed red after taking issue with his behaviour.

Assistants João Martins and Vitor Castanheira are expected to represent him on the touchline for that opening leg.
