Fluminense overtake Corinthians in prize money table, Flamengo top | OneFootball

Fluminense have climbed to third in Brazil’s men’s prize money rankings after reaching the Libertadores semi-finals, moving to R$ 53.2 million this season. Corinthians, out of the competition, stand on R$ 42.5 million.

According to Gato Mestre, the top two remain unchanged among the Brazilian semi-finalists, with Flamengo on R$ 70.4 million and Palmeiras on R$ 60.5 million.

Vasco are closing in on Corinthians after making the Sudamericana semi-finals, and with a Copa do Brasil final still possible. The Rio club trail by a little over R$ one million, R$ 42.5 million against R$ 41.4 million. Progress to either final would lift them into the season’s top four.

Atlético-MG are in a similar position despite a lower total of R$ 32.3 million. They can still reach the same two finals and could even face Vasco.

Elsewhere this week, two other São Paulo sides missed chances to climb. Santos were knocked out of the Sudamericana by Atlético-MG and stay 10th on R$ 20.6 million. São Paulo drew with Boca Juniors at Morumbis, which sent the Argentines through, and remain 14th on R$ 12.7 million.

The calculations cover prize money from the Libertadores, Sudamericana, Recopa, Copa do Brasil, Supercopa, regional and state competitions.
