‘Focus Is Now Entirely’ – Star Nottingham Forest Bid For Not Considering Move | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest look set to miss out on Feyenoord defender Givairo Read as he is no longer thinking in terms of moving on from De Kuip this summer.

The Tricky Trees are looking to add to their defence this summer and a right-back is on Oliver Glasner’s agenda.

Forest have their eyes on 20-year-old Read and they have been keen on signing him but saw multiple offers rejectedby Feyenoord.

Serie A giants Roma also emerged as suitors for Read and in the hope of stealing a march on Forest they sent a delegation to Rotterdam to negotiate a deal for the player.

Roma went in with a bid in the region of €28m, which Feyenoord deemed insufficient, and slapped a €35m price tag on his head.

The Trigoria outfit, despite their constant efforts, failed to come to an agreement with Feyenoord regarding a possible transfer.

Nottingham Forest and Roma have both already agreed to personal terms with the 20-year-old right-back’s camp but Feyenoord are not keen on parting ways with Read.

Now Forest look set to be disappointed.

According to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, Read is ‘no longer considering a possible transfer’.

His ‘focus is now entirely’ on playing for Feyenoord this season and trying to bring trophies back to De Kuip.

Read, who is a product of the Feyenoord academy system, missed a large part of last season due to a hamstring injury and featured only 16 times in the league.

The Feyenoord hierarchy also think that Read’s stock will increase significantly if he is able to have an injury free campaign and break into the Dutch national team this season.

As such, they believe they could cash in to a greater extent next summer.

Whether Nottingham Forest are prepared to continue to push for Read and still make efforts to find an agreement remains to be seen.

The Tricky Trees will surely continue to keep an eye on his progress in Rotterdam if he does not end up at the City Ground this summer.
