Folarin Balogun missed Monaco first-team training on Wednesday amid mounting transfer links. According to Get French Football News, the striker was not with the main group.

He sat out the UEFA Europa Conference League first leg against Gornik Zabrze in Poland last week. He also missed Monaco’s Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre AC, and he will not feature in the second leg against Gornik Zabrze.

Speaking last week, head coach Filipe Luís said the United States international had only just begun pre-season after a late World Cup return and was managing issues from the tournament. He added that Balogun had barely trained and would probably rejoin the group this week, and that he hoped to have him back soon.

Balogun is continuing on an individual programme. Ansu Fati was also absent, while Matthis Abline worked separately on the pitch.

The former Arsenal forward continues to be linked with a move away from the Principality club, with Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Barcelona mentioned this week.
