RMC Sport reports that Folarin Balogun has failed a medical with Everton, leaving his €50m move from Monaco in serious doubt. L’Equipe earlier said the deal is close to collapse and, barring a Deadline Day twist, the USMNT forward is unlikely to make the switch to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Everton’s medical team do not consider him 100% fit.

Monaco and the Liverpool-based club had an agreement in place for the former Arsenal academy graduate, 25.

Monaco head coach Filipe Luis has said Balogun played through the FIFA World Cup with a minor injury and is still recovering. Monaco and the player’s camp insist he is ready to play.

Balogun has spent three years at Monaco and is under contract until 2028. He has made 91 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals.
