Folarin Balogun has been left out of Monaco’s UEFA Europa Conference League squad, the decision following the collapse of his deadline-day move to Everton.

Monaco named their list on Thursday and Balogun was not included. According to Nice-Matin, the USMNT international is likely to remain at the club until the winter, though a move remains possible with windows in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia still open.

Balogun returned to training on Thursday ahead of Friday night’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain but was not selected in the matchday squad.

Pre-match, manager Filipe Luís cited a fitness issue and offered no timeline for the striker’s return.

Those factors, together with uncertainty over his future, could explain his omission from the European list.

Matthis Abline, Paris Brunner and Mika Biereth are the recognised senior options available to Luís.
