Football Supporters Europe has urged FIFA to suspend sales for the 2026 World Cup, citing ticket prices it says are excessive. According to L'Équipe, the pan-European supporters' group issued its demand in a statement on Thursday.

FSE, founded in 2008, said it was astonished by what it considers exorbitant pricing set by FIFA. It wants an immediate pause to PMA ticket sales, a consultation with all stakeholders, and a review of prices.

The association described the pricing as a flagrant betrayal of World Cup tradition, saying some tickets are up to five times higher than at Qatar 2022.

It added that variable pricing means supporters of different nations would pay different sums for the same category at the same stage, depending on a fixture’s perceived attractiveness.

PMA refers to allocations through participating member associations, the specific focus of FSE’s suspension request.
