Nottingham Forest host Tottenham Hotspur, aiming to build on last week’s 2-2 draw at Anfield, while Spurs chase their first points of the season. According to Telegraph, Liam Delap makes his first Forest start after becoming the club’s record signing this summer.
It was a relatively quiet window for Forest, a contrast to their busier rebuilds since returning in 2022.
For Tottenham, the headline is Mykhailo Mudryk on the bench. Signed from Chelsea on deadline day on an initial loan, Roberto De Zerbi once tipped him as a future Ballon d’Or winner from their time together at Shakhtar.
He has not featured competitively since November 2024, the Football Association having suspended him after a positive test for the performance-enhancing meldonium.
After a £300m+ summer reset, they will hope the third outing is kinder. Two defeats, five conceded and none scored so far.
Supporters remain scarred by two successive 17th-placed finishes. Forest have won their last four against Spurs, so a positive result here would be an early sign of promise for Roberto De Zerbi.
