Liverpool unveiled a memorial outside Anfield on Thursday to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. It comes on the eve of the 3 July 2025 anniversary of their deaths in a road accident last summer.

The sculpture, titled “Forever 20”, stands on 97th Avenue outside the stadium. The club said in a statement that material tributes, including pieces of scarves and shirts, were set in wax and inlaid into its surface.

Created by British sculptor Emma Rodgers, the work features a flowing heart at its centre.

A PlayStation controller also appears, nodding to Jota’s trademark goal celebration and his connection with gaming.

From different viewpoints the piece reveals either the number 20 or 30, the shirt numbers worn by the two brothers as players.
